While the likes of Silverstone are getting nude for animals, some one in this part of the world is making a point about something far more important - hunger. And that too without having to shed clothes. It’s no lesser a celebrity than Shabana Azmi. The renowned actress minces no words in criticizing those who tend to view hunger in terms of cold statistics. When someone’s spouse or daughter goes to bed hungry, it is then that a person realized how ‘chilling’ an issue hunger is, she pointed out.

Shabana was leaving for New York to take part in a special protest campaign against hunger. The protest rally is aptly called ‘hunger free’ campaign.

It was also pointed out that the promise made by the United Nations to cut hunger down by a half by 2015 is not likely to be met because the number of people going to bed empty stomach has increased and not decreased since the UN promised to reduce hunger in the world. With as many as 35,000 people starving to death everyday, hunger is certainly an urgent issue to be addressed at the earliest.
