Nithari Killings: Post-Mortem Suggests Organ Trade, Pressure Mounting on UP Government, Supreme Court Refuses to InterveneThe worst fear regarding the Noida killing seems to be coming true with the post-mortem report hinting at a possible organ trade. The bones recovered in Sector 31 in the past week were sent for the post-mortem and the Chief Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Vinod Kumar, is reported to have told that form the skeletal remains of all 17 victims the kneecaps were missing. And since kneecaps are transplanted the possibility of organ trade cannot be ruled out. The doctor also expressed his fear about their being a foreign hand. He said:

Since the human organs trade is not so prevalent in India, a foreign hand cannot be ruled out, though that is for the investigators to substantiate it

He further added:

Moreover, the bodies appeared to have been cut up by skilled hands. The person who cut up the bodies may not necessarily be a doctor, but was skilled enough not to damage the vital parts.

In the meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh police has put together a special team to probe the matter with an Additional Superintendent of Police as its head. Senior Superintendent of Police (Noida), Mr. R.K.S. Rathore, informing about the formation of the team, told:
The new team will be headed by Additional Superintendent (Baghpat) Sreekrishan and comprise more than 10 members including three Deputy Superintendents and Inspectors.
The Uttar Pradesh government seems to be feeling the heating from all quarters and the pressure on it to hand over the matter to the CBI for enquiry is mounting.Nithari Killings: Post-Mortem Suggests Organ Trade, Pressure Mounting on UP Government, Supreme Court Refuses to Intervene
The Supreme Court was also approached to intervene in the matter by ordering a CBI inquiry, but the Court refused to do so. Refusing to take suo motu cognizance of the case, the Chief Justice-designate K G Balakrishnan said:

Police should thoroughly investigate the matter and find who all are involved in this crime and make investigation report, question people, take medical evidence and all that is required. Police should also take statement from witnesses... This case is only at initial stage, no court can take any action.

It is rather too early for the probe to be handed over to the CBI because with so much of attention on the killings the possibility of any hanky panky is almost negligible. Therefore, there is no need to increase CBI’s workload unnecessarily.
