India Condemns Saddam's Execution
Saddam’s execution has not gone well with India and the Indian government despite exercising restrain has said as much. The government used the term ‘disappointed’ for what it felt about the execution and called the execution ‘unfortunate’.
The Government of India was forthcoming in its opposition to Saddam’s execution even before it was carried out. However, after the execution it has expressed hope that it would not disturb Iraq further.
External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee issued a statement saying:

We had already expressed the hope that the execution would not be carried out. We are disappointed that it has been (carried out)... We hope that the unfortunate event will not affect the process of reconciliation, restoration of peace and normalcy in Iraq

India Condemns Saddam's Execution
All the political parties have roundly criticized the execution and have not minced words in condemning it. The ruling Congress called it a ‘judicial assault’ and a ‘barbaric’ action.
The Congress questioned the credibility of the process adopted to sentence Saddam Hussein and said that his hanging did not “not carry any credibility” because there were ‘clear procedural deficiencies in the trial process’. Apart from that the execution was carried out in ‘undue haste’.
Shortly after the news of Hussein’s hanging reached India, the Congress chief spokesman, Janardan Dwivedi said:

They validate(d) our previously expressed apprehensions regarding ad-hoc victors’ justice and therefore, we condemn it.

CPI(M) leader Nilotpal Basu was of the opinion that the urgency shown in executing Saddam is ‘very suspect’, and added that this might have adverse consequences no just for Iraq but for the rest of the world too.
Saddam Hussein’s execution seems to have left the world in turmoil. The questions about the legal validity of his execution are very real. The legitimacy of his execution is close to nil and the world sees the US as the ‘murderer’ of Saddam Hussein. Even the greatest detractors of Saddam would fail to haul themselves to the US’ side on this.
Apparently, George Bush has aggravated the dangers to the Americans anywhere and everywhere. The backlash is just a matter of time.
